Can someone tell me the proper procedure for changing and XTL 2500 with an O9 head to an O3? I have the hardware kit for the O3 but I'm assuming I need to purchase a dongle from Motorola in order to flash the O3 control head feature? I've never done one after the fact. Also, I noticed the "change control head type" under <tools> on the menu bar is greyed out...how's this supposed to work ??


lastly, how are you supposed to install a Siren DEK setup with an XTL & O3 control head? is there a different control cable for the O3 head with provisions to put the DEK in line? I can't find anything giving me any more information other than "it's an available option" because I don't see anywhere to attach a Siren DEK with the "standard" O3 control head cable(s)

First you can't use an O9 head on a XTL2500 or for that matter even an XTL5000. Since your control head change option is greyed out I am going to assume your running a XTL2500 with a M5 control head.

A XTL2500 does not support any other control head. If you want to run an O3 control head on it then you have to either get a XTL5000 or change your 2500 to a 5000 (we can't discuss the details of that).

If you get the radio setup with an O3 head, in order to run a siren on it you must use a siren dek setup using the HKN6145A siren cable. I actually just finished doing an install with this exact setup.
