CommandStar Lite; CSDM-Lite

Post by radio_05 »

I'm having trouble connecting to my console using the CSDM port on the console, via my working COM1 PC port, and null modem serial cable.

I've been through the manual a few times, and can''t get the option of upload or download database. I've programmed many MC3000 digital remotes before, and have been able to put them into programming mode, but don't see how to do the same with this unit. Do I need to reset the console with CSDM-lite running in order to connect?

It's been a few years since I messed with it, but with CSDM-lite running, you should see 'connected' or something along those lines at the bottom of the CSDM screen when you make the serial connection to the console. If you don't, then something is wrong. Maybe it's a straight through cable? I can't remember off hand.

Once connection is made, you need to 'log in' to the CSDM-lite software in order to be able to download the database. The default user/pass is SUPERUSER.
