M1225 Low powered mobile Question

Anyone knows if the 25 watt mobile radios can drop down to 5 watts on transmit? Model #M34DGC90E2AA .. Spec says 10 - 25 watts?

5 watts IS below what we call the safe point where the power amplifier operates in the Class C mode.

Below about one half power is where the amp gets out of whack. You would need to check on a spectrum analyzer to be sure of stable operation

You could use a PA out of a GM300 LPI radio.
