Motorola LMR on Citizen's Band (27 MHz)

Hi all!
Maybe anybody tried Motorola professional grade radios on CB (27 MHz) band? For e.g. MaxTrac 29-36 or CDM Series (B split - 29.7-36 MHz) with OOB hack?
This question is about technology and not the legal aspects.
Thanks!

Would not the biggest "technology" problem be that those are FM radios?

In Europe AM and FM modulations are used on CB as standard. So modulation is not a problem.

Are you in Europe?

You want to invite me on a date? But do you know anything about question asked? If NO, I am very sorry...

it's a fair question. In the USA, CB is a regulated service, and only part 95 equipment can legally transmit on CB frequencies (which encompass more than just 27MHz, MURS and GMRS are also part 95).
I don't know about the EU, but I also ASSume the same holds true, only radios specifically certified for citizens band radios can be lawfully used. Don't know what the consequences might be otherwise.
Many people have used Maxtracs and CDM's on the 10M amateur band. The documentation on how well they work and out of band instructions/conversions are all over the place on the web.

Is the CDM or MaxTrac will go down to 27.100 MHz? Withi no VCO components change, just software mods.

NO the radios will not go that low, out of band, without major hardware changes.

We used to run X9000s on 27.205 to drive 10kw mobile amps in California back in the day.... (what is the statute of limitations on this??)

Wow! Any VCO hardware mods applied?

On about half the radios, we had to move the VCOs down a bit, most would lock at 27.50 reliably without any mods. A few, much lower. We ended up moving half a dozen down quite a ways simply to make them more stable at the lower end. It was a kinda fun project, but pointless.

There used to be a split for 25-29.6 on many radios. The company I work for has licenses at 26mhz and I think that I still have a couple of Maxtracs on that frequency.
