gp340 password protected

Hi. As the title says. I have a gp340 which i had programmed a few years ago. The guy that did the programming has moved away and i dont have his contact details. I didnt realise that when he programmed the radio that he password protected it.
I have brought another gp340 and wish to program this one with the same freq and settings that are in the password protected gp340. I have managed to use a seriel port tool to see what data is being sent when i turn the radio on. And get to the entre password section within the cps software. Thats as far as i can go with out the password.
Do anyone know where i would be able to find the password within the data read. Or have any other ideas what to do.
I dont want to lose the data in the password protected gp340.
