Will a 403-470 split MCS2000 go out of band to 395 MHz?

I searched throughout the site and a couple others but wasn't able to find an answer as far as going out of band lower than the split, everyone seemed to want to go higher than the split.
I have a 403-470 MCS2000 that I'd like to program a handful of interop channels in the 395 MHz range. Is this too far out of band for the radio or will it work? I also have a 380-470 XTL5000 I could use if the the MCS2k isn't going to be feasible.

395 mHz is probably way too far out of band for the MCS2000 radio. The firmware does not support it.

I would wager that it probably will. I've been able to get 450-520MHz MCS 2000's down to 438MHz in the past, and 403-470MHz MCS 2000's up to 480MHz.
It will require a hex edit of the CPS to allow it to happen, but it should be able to do it. Firmware doesn't really have anything to do with it beyond the fact that you won't have tuning points at 395MHz, so check the radio out on a service monitor to see what your results are like.
What in the wide world of sports is on 395MHz that you want to work with? Military?

Will give it a shot, if nothing else I'll just track down the rear accessory programming cable we need for the XTL5000.
We back up against an AFB that assists on SAR call outs.

I'm using a 403-470 on 477 quite successfully and have used a few of these on 477 all successfully. Unlike the XTL series the MCS series wanders well.

395Mhz? You might want to check with the AFB most of those are AM freqs in that range

Intra-Squad Radio would be my first guess. It's sort of like FRS for the DOD.
Just FYI, XTL/XTS radios in the Q-split support 380-470 MHz natively.
