Batboard

Hey all, A friend of mine asked me to look at his Ht1550. Says the speaker works intermittantly. (unsure if this occurs with remote speakermic)

He told me it would work, then just stop. He'd stop using it for a while - then it would work for a while, only to stop again. The display remained on during this time.

Any thoughts before I open it up to check flexes? I'm limited in my repair knowledge.
