ADP Key Characters

Are the characters of an ADP (software, fwiw) key limited to hex? I know I can enter A-Z, but the help file states it is hex only.
So, if it IS hex only, what happens to all the non-hex characters?
Anybody know for sure?

What software are you entering non-hex characters into?
I just tried APX, ASTRO25 and MotoTRBO CPS and all only allow hex character entry.

Astro25. If you right click, you can paste anything. I was pasting a key that was non-hex.

It'll either go invalid or just blow that key away. It's 40-bit RC4 encryption... 40 bits = 5 bytes = 10 hex characters.

Weird you can paste it and program it and transmit with it. Oh well, found a glitch!
