Have a R100 repeater that lacks the battery back up guts and would like to add such to it so have redundant power in case of emergency. How can i go about building and installing a trickle charge circuit and tie it in to the Power loop? Knowing my luck probably such out there already and easily added in.

Any help/ advice is appreciated :)

The power supply in the R100 manual only shows it with the battery backup feature, which I thought was standard. You'd have to duplicate the functionality, which includes the trickle charger and a voltage comparator to detect loss of incoming AC power, plus a relay that actually switches the battery in to run the station.

You could probably use a small external battery charger and either a relay or some 25A diodes to isolate the battery and the internal station supply. The R100 manual power supply schematic should give you some idea of where to connect things.
