Notch duplexer question

Post by FCM »

Hi all!!
Question concerning a notch duplexer installed in a gr1225 repeater. The duplexer is tuned to 462.675/467.675 MHz. We need to change our frequencies to either 462.700/467.700 or 462.650/467.650 MHz . Can we do this without the need to have the duplexer retuned? I'm not sure how selective these duplexer are. Thanks!!

My experience is that notch only cans are pretty tight, and moving 25kHz will mean you probably will get significant reduction in isolation.

Enough to blow things up? probably not.
Enough to desense your receiver? probably so.
Enough desense to cause problems? maybe.

But that close, retuning should be a 15 minute job for somebody with a spec-an and tracking generator.
This is my opinion, not Aeroflex's.

I WILL NOT give you proprietary information. I make too much money to jeopardize my job.

I AM NOT the Service department: You want official info, manuals, service info, parts, calibration, etc., contact Aeroflex directly, please.
