Issues remoting Dispatch Consoles

Post by ELMRtechDUDE »

So we are moving the dispatch equipment (op positions) into a new building and leaving the CEB etc at the old location. The connection for the site switch and server and all of that was run via a media converter and T-1. Its works great. The issue i am having is trying to figure out how to remote the CIE to CEB. Does anyone have the pinout for the 7 pair cable on the back of the CIE. And does anyone have the procedure on how to remote the consoles. Any help would be great. Thanks

This is where you bring in MOT engineering to replace your OMI cards with ROCI cards, and put in modems to maintain the logical link between the CIE and the CEB. You'll also need two leased lines per position to carry the SEL, UNSEL, and MIC audio.

Can it be done without ROCI cards? I have old Paradyne modems that were used before the system was upgraded. I also already have a T-1 routed the the new building that i tested the link to the server with.

We looked into doing the console links with a RAD T-1 Megaplex a few years back instead of ROCI / CORI combo. Moto ST seemed to think it would work but we changed direction and didn't do any remotes at all. Installation says you can run 2000 feet between the CEB and a CIE with the 7 pair but I sure wouldn't do it. My longest is about 250'.

You might be able to find what you need used or new because CCGE is end of life and a lot of people are going IP with MCC 7500 or equivalent.
