EX600 XLS / GP688 - Baseband Offset Adj Greyed Out?

I have a European version of the EX600 XLS trunking and conventional radio which is called a GP688.

It looks identical to a EX600 XLS but has Euro firmware and uses different CPS. The radio is really a trunking radio with just a few basic conventional features - 16 channels BUT no scan, CSQ defeat, power toggle etc.

I am getting a very low level hum on all channels when Rxing a weak signal using carrier SQ. The TX source is using NO PL. BUT when I TX a signal with a PL ie. 110Hz, I do NOT get the "usual" loud hum - so I'm guessing that the Baseband Offset has already been adjusted to remove the hum using different default values but the new values are causing other problems.

However, when I use the Tuner software (version R02.15.00), the Baseband Update Utility is "greyed out" and I can't access it

The Help Pages says that the Baseband Update Utility uses a config file that is installed with the Tuner and "if the codeplug is updated, the config file needs to be updated to recognise the new codeplug version".

What does this mean and how can I access the Baseband Update Utility??

Using newer CPS will automatically update the codeplug so how do I update the Baseband Update Utility config file?

Does it just mean I need to use a later version of Tuner software? Version R02.15.00 works OK for adjusting other paras such as SQ levels etc.

Thanks

I'm trying to figure out how Motorola determines what the values should be. I have an EX600XLS that has horrible PL hum on the received audio, in CSQ or with the proper PL programmed for decode.

No matter what I do with the baseband values in tuner, nothing changes. And yes, I have the correct channel spacing selected.
