Has anyone with Gold Elite Consoles ever heard an intermittent beeb? When this happens the VU meter on the CIE moves inconjunction with the beeb. Very intermittent.

Interestingly, we have one that just started to do this a couple of days ago. Still troubleshooting. Very intermittent. Doesn't do it if you shutdown the Elite Dispatch software.

When the application is closed, the CIE is "put to sleep".

What does this beeping sound like? Steady 1000Hz tone? Pulsed? Is it occurring on the selected resource, or elsewhere? Does it do it if you leave the console selected on some other resource?

Could be a failing BIM... If the BIM is resetting, you'll get three long tones of different frequencies (and likely a red X on the affected resource).

Does the red/white exclamation point in the status bar at the bottom of the Elite window illuminate?

A TTY/terminal attached to the lowest TDM address COIM via a CEB cable at 9600-N-8-1 may produce diagnostic information.

You might also want to monitor the wireline to see if you have it there. Just a SWAG, but could it be a station intermittently going into battery backup?

Turns out our problem may have been a bad foot switch. Intermittently activating the Monitor line when monitor was not available. This caused an error tone.

Yep that'll do it... Can't monitor on trunked resources
