XTL5000 O-series TIB with W-series Head

Anyone know if it is possible to use an O-series TIB with a W7 series head as long as the radio is flashed for the correct head? I saw on this link (http://communications.support/threads/1 ... rt-Numbers) someone was able to do just that with a W3 but before I put my radio up in smoke I wanted to see if anyone else has tried this with other heads.
