Maxtrac:16 to 32 Channel

Is is possible/reasonable to do a hex edit of the RSS that will allow it to read a 16 channel Maxtrac as a 32 channel radio? As opposed to going through the whole Lab blanking procedure? Similar to how the GM300 software can be tweaked to work for 40 channel?
Thanks.

Hello:
Don't qoate me on this but :
MDF = Model Definition File
Yeah I thought I read way back that if you changed the mdf file of your 16ch to the mdf file of a 32 ch that you could then read the radio as a 32 and program as a 32.
But this was only for the hln9313 16 pin logic bd.
Obviously a 5.34 prom was needed too but the 16ch maxtrac with the 16 pin logic bd had that anyway.
I did see here on the forum under Model Specific Information and select maxtrac then scroll down to add mdf info on how to do this step by step with hex editing program which has a link to that program.

Go here:
http://batlabs.com/maxrad.html

Scroll down to this section:
Add Channels by Editing the .MDF File

I've used it on both a Maxtrac and a the Radius version. It work on both for me

Tried it on a older 5 pin 6 channel. Could only go to 16 before it ran out of memory.
