WARIS HTN9000 charger issues

I have two waris chargers that are doing strange things. They are PT # HTN9000B, and C. They both work fine charging HT750,s and HT1250,s. However when charging an EX600 the charger will go red and start charging. then it will start flashing red and the radio will cycle on and off, then go steady again, then flash, radio cycles hen steady again. I thought it might have been the battery and purchased a new battery and still have the same issues.. The battery also does the same thing without the radio attached. The charger goes steady red. then flashing red, then steady again. Any ideas? I think these "smart" chargers are just to sell more batteries.

Both are original Motorola.
