Motorola/ TPL PA3-1AC

I am looking to buy an XTVA vehicular adapter for my XTS3000, which has an output of five watts. The TPL amplifier that comes with the XTVA, a PA3-1AC, is marked for an input of 1-4 watts. Should this made a difference?
