What is the fastest computer would you use to program a MTS2000 using CPS R01.05.14.
Is a Pentium 3 to fast?

Mike,
I am not sure about the CPS (windows) version, but I have programmed a lot of these using the DOS version of RSS on a P3-500 MHz. But you have to use this sofware in DOS mode; not a DOS window under Windows.
Since these DOS programs work OK with a P3 I would assume the CPS versions would too.
It might also be a case of what version of Windows you are using....

The suggested computer requirements for that particular RSS is a Pentium 450MHz w/128MB of RAM, although that's mainly to run the Help movies at a decent speed. I really don't think it matters how fast you go with the new Windows RSS. Even in DOS, Motorola themselves (if you call & ask) state that the newer DOS RSS can run (including read/write to the radio) on much faster computers than the standard 386/486 25MHz most people advocate. The local Motorola FTRs here are all running minimum 366 P-IIs for their DOS ASTRO & MTSX/MCS RSS, on a DOS 6.22 partition, with no problems. I myself programmed over 4000 MCS/MTS2000, LCS/LTS2000, XTS3000 & Astro mobiles with a P-120,for a new Smartzone Omni-link system. Number of corrupted codeplugs - "zero".
