Batboard

I have an old Motorola Associate 2000 mobile phone, it works on NMT standard and I was wondering if it is possible to be converted to work as a conventional radio. As a matter of fact I have heard that such a thing it was done with a Siemens mobile phone using same standard. I don't need it as a mobile phone anymore so it will be neat to convert it to a conventional radio. Any help is apreciated.
