I just inherited a mess. I have a couple of 2809 controlled radio systems (Smartnet with Quantar repeaters) that I am trying to keep duct-taped together until my agency is able to purchase replacements. I need to be able to get into the system (I have no computer or modem access; can only do from the terminal access on the back). Does anyone know what settings, cables, etc that I will need to be able to get into it? I know that I will be having to use old command prompts to talk with it.

I think you must mean "6809" controlled? Is that right? The early cpu's that ran the system boards were 6809 microprocessors. That is why they were sometimes referred to as 6809 controllers.

The most common standard RS232 terminals is 8/N/1 (8N1). This specifies 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.
Not sure of the speed but it was likely 1200 baud.
