Hello all,
As a firefighter, my hobby is collecting vintage public safety radios and dispatch consoles. A few years ago I picked up an MX360 handheld and a complete N1244A convertacom system. This included the N1254A 60 watt VHF power amp. The tag on the side is very hard to read but I know the lower frequency limit is in the 150 range. I have heard that this amp can be tuned down for 2 meter ham use. I have just received my ham license and I would like to use this unit instead of buying a Mirage. Can anyone confirm that this can be tuned down and what does it take to do that? My technical knowledge is very limited. Thanks.
