I'm assuming here but I would assume you would be looking for the digital ground and the audio out off the accessory socket. However as with anything I'd imagine you would need or be wise to put a 600k audio matcher in between.

I wouldn't call that an assumption so much as a guess, considering he didn't tell us what type of radio he has.

True but considering the weak info we have to work with a guess/suggestion is better than nothing or nitpicking others without your own theory

.
OP what radio are you interfacing to would be a start as Radius for eg as far as I remember don't run a digital earth like Jedi/Odysee etc.

Remote or dash? Which head? If you have the J2 on the back of the head for a remote then you should be able to pluck audio out and digital ground and send them via an LIU to the 3.5mm. However if an APX is not loud enough you may need to change speaker. I have an 8ohm speaker in my car which can be quiete because I am going to also tack in an external 8ohm horn and Moto gave me the speil of 1-2x 8 OR 1x (4 or 16ohm can't remember which think 4). The later being much louder apparently.
According to Moto anything beyond them 2 configs would result in smoke of the audio PA stage.

I would be careful with just widely making this connection. Most of the Motorola radios have a DC bias on the audio outputs and you just don't want to go blundering into an unknown connection to the auto audio. My concern is that it wouldn't hurt to place a series coupling capacitor to eliminate any chance of shorting this Dc bias to ground with the connection. The use of something like a 1.0 uf cap would work wonders to eliminate this problem.

This is when a 600k isolation transformer makes wonders.
