Hi, I saw an ad for a model 3 MTS2000 UHF that said when booted up it displays the message "Key Error". My question is: can this radio be programmed or is it locked out? Thank you.........................Jim

Turn the switch at the base of the channel selector switch. There should be a "O" and a "O" with a line through it. Move the switch to the "O" and you should be ok. It's looking for en encryption key, which is not present.

Not rare at all. Most common probably DES-XL.
