How to replace an HT1250 Speaker?

I have an MTX9250 (same as HT1250) with very poor tinny audio - I think its the speaker.

I have an identical radio and the RX audio is great. I've switch off Hearclear and the low level expansion / compression just in case but the audio is still poor - so I guess I need to replace the speaker - even though the radio is new old stock and has probably never seen service.

I'm looking for some hints and tips on replacing the speaker - is it all simple and obvious? Presumably its soldered to the flex but hopefully its no glued to the case?

Thanks

Less than two weeks ago, there was this thread. I believe it is what you should double check first before replacing the speaker. http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=112299

I've checked all the CPS settings. I have 2 identical radios from the same batch (close serial number) and same programming so I'm sure its not just an incorrect CPS setting.....but I will attempt to dig out a speaker mic to check.

From what I recall it is not glued into the case. It is held in by a chrome metal clip sort of thing. Pretty straight forward to get out once you have the radio apart.
