XPR8300 control over internet?

Post by 2112 »

Looking for something that will allow control of a ham repeater built out of a XPR8300 over the internet. Don't need anything fancy... just on/off & MCW ID. I reckon some options for courtesy tone would be helpful too. I don't have a need to link the repeater over the internet. I'm not very good at building interface cables, so I would need something pre-made. Any ideas out there aside from my putting a computer on it with Echolink that I can remote into?

Thanks!!

Are you using an external repeater control panel, or just the repeater itself? If you have an IP connection, you can do the on/off with RDAC. To do much beyond that, you'd need the IP programming entitlement and use CPS to make programming changes.

+1 on RDAC. If you don't have a 32MB repeater then you can't do remote programming. If you set up various channels (same RF freqs but with with different pre-set configs) to suit your needs then you can use RDAC to change "channels" to change your operating mode. The only cable you need is an Ethernet cable.
