There is a setting that can be set so that the radio only powers up when there is voltage on the ignition sense input, pin 25 of the accessory connector. It should be under 'Accessories' in the CPS.

Would the radio power up anyway with an accessory port programming cable?

If the radio is set up for 'follow ignition only' you need power on the main power connector and on the ignition sense pin of the accessory connector for the radio to power up. As far as I know a the accessory port programming cables will not power the radio up unless someone has added a wire at pin 25.

Thank you for the help. I’ve ordered an accessory connector with ignition sense wiring. I’m really hoping the radio will start up with it. Otherwise, its off to the repair shop.
