I'm thinking about trading the 8X2 clamshell head on my VHF Marartrac for the 99ch head.

I have already looked at the Maratrac page, but it's not clear if I just have to move the control cable pins on a 1 to 1 basis between the two heads and reprogram, or if I will have to do some control cable reconfiguration (or replacement) in order to make it all work. (If you haven't guessed, I don't have the 99ch head in my hands yet.)

Thanks!

Its a lot easier to get the control cable that goes with the 99ch A7 head. (its the same plug at the radio end but at the control head end it has a directly mating plug for the A7 head instead of numbered leads like for the A3 clamshell). Then you just use the RSS to change the head type.

The Maratrac 99 channel A7 head upgrade requires a control head cable replacement the cable you will need is HKN4321A and also as you already know you need to program the type of head you are using in the RSS.

Hope this helps
