Antenna Placement and a good scanner antenna

Is 16 to 18 inches too close to group 4 1/4 wave "chrome dome" antenna on the top of a pickup? I have antenna specialist antennas, 1 vhf, 1 uhf, 1 800 mhz and a scanner antenna to put on top of a regular cab chevy. Since the vhf is the primary radio, It is directly in the middle, Then behind it, right above the dome light, is another. I have two more to put op there as I get the radios, and want to put them at the back of the cab, 16 inches to the left and right of the one above the dome light. Will this work?

Also, does anyone have any expirience with the Maxrad MAXSCAN 1000 scanner antenna? I am thinking of using it since it is only 20" tall and would fit in with the 1/4 waves.

I would like to use good 3db antennas, but my garage doesn't like them....has a bad habit of breaking them off the top!

You should be OK, sounds like the best you can do. Just don't put them right up on the edge of the roof. As for the antennas breaking off... you might just end up like me.. on the street! I can't park in my garage either! Between the 1/4 over 5/8 UHF and the Lowband antenna... I can barely park anywhere with a roof!
