Hello everyone,
Okay here's what I did. I have a UH A9 Spectra in my 95 Chevey lumina. It is the remote trunk mount model with the larger face plate. I went to program an additional channel into the radio and all seemed okay. I was recieving just fine from it. When I tried to key up the radio seem to become stuck in teh TX mode. I turned the radio off and it goes into an endless loop of turning on, selfcheck, FAIL 01/90, and then shutting off, turning on etc.... So what could have possibly gone wrong? I read teh radio a few times before programming any channels in and it did that just fine. Only until after prigramming a channel in did i experice my problem... HELP!!!!

Check your power fuses & cabling. I believe
fail 01/90 means that the control head is getting power, but the main radio is not.

Fail 01/90. Common problem. The manual says this is a serial comm problem with the radio. Usually power to the radio chassis is missing (the head can't talk to the radio, hence 01/90). If fuse and power cable are OK, find the little green pico fuse on the command board and check if is open. By the way, shorting either speaker lead to ground is a sure fire way to take out the audio PA or this fuse.

i went and rechecked all the fuses and long and behold it was the main power cable to the radio that was loose. I can't believe i could have overlooked such a minor detail. Well the radio is up and running once again and i want to thanks everyone for the help!!!
