Last year my P1225 went dead. No squelch, no transmit, however, if you listened to the speaker when you turned the radio on, you could tell the radio was getting power. Sent the radio in under warranty repair and it came back a few days later fixed. It now happend again, and I really am perplexed. Don't really want to send the radio in, as it is not under warranty anymore. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

That's a common problem with those radios, if you have one with a display it'll actually show the left-most segment all lit up, but without a display it appears dead. It's either a bad reference oscillator, or just needs resoldering. There's virtually no solder on the leads from the factory. It's the 2-pin crystal at the bottom of the board next to the main microprocessor (not the 4-pin clock crystal). Why they didn't make it to give an error tone like most of their other radios, I don't know.
