What is the major difference between a low band P200 and MT1000?

Thanks for your input.

The cases are the same. Main difference is the channels, p200 maxes out at 6 while the mt1000 can do up to 99 (I think they made a 99ch lowband version, if not it maxes at 16). Also p200's don't have scan.

P200's are exactly the same as an HT600 ('cept for the case).

Its like comparing an HT600 with an MT1000.

Ht600.. max 6 channels, no scan, etc.

MT1000... max 8 channels (99 channel models do exist), with options for signalling, man down, etc. through an optional front cover, as well as scan.

The lowband P200 will do everything the lowband MT1000 will do, including scan. Besides the internal controller differences, the only difference is the number of channels available. The P200 is two or six channels, and that's it. The lowband MT1000 is 2, 6, and I've seen 32 channel models. I've never seen a 99 channel lowband MT1000, but people swear they're out there. The one I had maxed at 32. Once you get into VHF and UHF, the differences become greater. The VHF and UHF p200s will not scan. They are still capable of only 2 or 6 channels. The VHF and UHF MT1000s are available in 8, 16, and 99 channel models. They will also scan up to 8 channels.

Yes motorola made from the Factory (not Hacked)
the MT1000 99 channel
and the maxtrac 60 watt 99 channel mobile.

We also needed the special RSS to program
these mobile units.They work a-ok.
