900MHz spectra - changing trunk to conventional

Post by n1pfc »

Anyone have a conventional 900MHz codeplug or know of a way of changing the codeplug data around to make a trunked radio work as a conventional one?

D27KMA7JA5FK if it exists?
D37KMA7JA5FK also?
I managed to do the 'bit-banging the model number' mod and then realized I need the alternate codeplug or some other way to tinker with the MLM to get it to spin.

Can anyone help? all I have is trunking radios here and would like to make them back into 128 channel conventional ones.

Thanks,
Kurt

I usually do not recomend these methods to anyone unless they have some experience with MLM boards.

If you have a version 5.xx or higher MLM, this method works very well.

Find an archive of a UHF or VHF Spectra with the same version MLM.

Using lab, clone the archive into the 900 Spectra. If you do this right , you show the Spectra to know have a fail 001 but it will be conventional only with 128 channel capability.

Go into the BITBANG and change the Bandsplit adress to the correct 900 bit.

Know when you read the radio and program it , you will have a 900 conventional Spectra with 128 channels.

I have been doing some of these for the Las Vegas area .

May not be a 900 mhz question, but does anybody know the address to bitbang a A-9 Spectra to an A-3 HHCH
