Guys,

I want to put something in my Dodge Ram similair to a Havis Shields console or something like that. I currently have a Syntor X9000, GM300 and a Kenwood TM-733A installed without a console. My plan is to remove the middle front seat and put the radios/control heads in a console there minus the GM300. In front of the console, I want to have a place to put a laptop computer mostly for longer road trips when I need to use the GPS system. Anyone have experience building these, or do you guys think I should contact one of the manufacturers and talk to them? Any help would be appreciated.

Its pretty simple

Gamber Johnson I know for fact makes stuff to fit the Doge vehicles. Get a no holes drilled base, select the console size that fits your needs, pick your face plates and filler plates or internal options that you need and you'll be all set. They have laptop mounts that will fit in front of the console nicely.

You'll need a lower pole, upper pole, clevis assembly and the laptop mount itself.

Thanks for the information. I've been calling around to the different distributors, and I'm finding it very difficult to explain what I want. I think most of the people trying to work with me on this have no clue what I'm talking about.

To be honest, I prefer the Havis equipment, but depending on price, I might go with something else. I'll have to keep looking around.
