GM900 no audio

Good day all,

I have a very frustrating problem with several GM900 and MC900 european radios. I get no audio whatsoever including switch on tones channel change tones etc, nothing comes out of the speaker. These radios were sent back to a company in the UK for reprogramming, I have contacted them and I am waiting for a reply but I don't hold out much hope for a solution as this was the original problem. I have no info on these radios or RSS, I have the US programming software but not the European stuff. Type of radio MR504B Model M01RHK9AN3BN.
Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Obvious stuff such as speaker connected etc has been checked. The accessory connector is part number HLN6412A.

Thanks

Zeb

The radios may be set up for external speakers and the jumper inside the radio is missing, disabling the internal speaker.

Hi:

Also, you might take a few of them apart and
see if there is a " Extra " board inside.

Lately ( on some used radios ) I have been seeing
a number of them with all kinds of strange aftermarket
boards inside, and the Audio is routed thorugh the board
piror to the speaker.

Also, check and make sure they may have been set
up for a Handset, as that too can disable the internal
speaker.

Hi,
If there is a jumper to make the set use an external speaker or handset does anyone know where it is?

I've managed to sort out this issue on my GM900's, you need to link pins 1+2 and 4+9, this forces the radio to drive the internal speaker, it's also worth noting that within the RSS you need to make sure that "Standard Handset Support" is set to "Disabled" other wise the internal speaker will not work.
