Hi there. Does anyone know a good Yeasu
site?
I am looking for info on the vhf
FT2600 175 ch. 60 watt mobile.Need to mod.
the power supply.Sorry this is not Motorola.

Hi Ken yes I have been to qrz and I know the mods but there is not any on powersupply.
If volt. goes below 10% radios tx stops.

Hi Will :
The trouble with the yeasu FT 2600
vhf mobile 60 watt 175 ch. radio is the power supply inside the radio itself.
When u get low volts it goes bad. Raymond

Raymond: Your 2600 is in all likelihood doing what it is supposed to do,in that it will accept a plus or minus ten percent voltage feed but at minus eleven percent it doesn't work right.

Ten percent is what a lot of electronic stuff is designed to tolerate.

If the radio is operating internally on various 8 and 5 volt DC sources, all derived from your 13.8 VDC input than you're going to have a difficult time digging into the control circuitry to make it work properly when the input voltage drops much below 12 volts. It can be done but ouch, what a job it would be.

HI guys,
I was told it was an easy fix but can not
get ahold of the ham that told us what to do. Lost the info and ham died. He said it was very easy to service the power supply. The radio does not like 12v or less. 13.6 is it's peak.

Raymond,
I have a FT2600M as well and have the same problem. If it's on a high power setting and there isnt enough power to satisfy it it'll just reset itself. Also sometimes when the radio re-powers up it is known to dump out all the memory that was in it. That's why I got the software and cable so if it dumps out, I can just connect it into the laptop and send what I have saved back to it. Other than that, it's a great radio.

Yes Chris this is a great unit. I run a 35 amp/40 inrush 12-15 volt power supply.
