I just got ahold of a saber radio for the first time, i went to work and tries to program the radio, just like i do to motorola radios every day, the SW seemed kind of different to me, but it was all alike just the same. my problem is that I can read the radio fine, but when i go to program the radio, it starts to extract the channel info, gets to channel 11, then it stops and prompts that there was a fatal error, to check the radio connections and check power to the radio. I even tried to program the radioo without even changing any of the channels. I am stumped, If anyone has any info, please give me a hand. I have long experience with motorola products and SW but I have never dealt with the saber program. Im not sure what im doing wrong, If anythin. any help would be appriciated. thanks.....also ...this radio has a secure module in it. im not sure if that effects the programming.

if you're writing the radio from the same codeplug you read from the radio, chances are the model number matches in the RSS before you try to write. but that's the first thing to check. make sure you're using the latest version of the saber RSS (07.01.00). other than that, i'd suspect the display board U501 EEPROM which holds your channel data.
