#1 What is the factory mic gain spec's?
#2 When you talk on it you lose a word or 2 as you talk.The radio is still keyed up but it cuts out the voice.First i thought it was a voice paging system that is on the same channel,but differant pl.Now i don't beleive this is the case.Can i fix this with the CPS?

I am interpeting that the lost words is on the end that is receiving. By any chance have you measured the TX deviation on the radio your having the problem with? If the deviation is set too high, loud voice peaks could be going out of the pass band of the receiver that is trying to listen to the transmission.
Simple test for this is to talk soft and see if it breaks up. Then talk real loud or give out with a long, loud, steady AAHHHHH. If it breaks up, you probably have the TX deviation set too high.
