I wrongly got a 403-430 split maxtrac. Will Lab software let me bring it to 450-470? I guess the tuner settings would be no good then? Thanks, Bill

More importantly, your finals are designed for that range, not the 450+. They may work, but they will most likely burn out faster.

Not likely to go up that high. I know the high split will only go down to about 430 with out getting squirrely. I've only seen the low split UHF in a GM300, so you have a rare unit....Trading or selling would be best.

This radio will not work properly doing
the lab change. RF will not go that far.

Depending on the date of manufacture you may be able to get it up to 445.000 mhz just fine , but after that you are out of luck.


I have done a few of the older m208's and Maxtracs with no problem, they just won't lock above 445.000 mhz.

Save the original codeplug and give it a try, you might be surprised!!


Oh, and don't forget to re-align the radio with normal RSS after the switch over.
And if you do it let use know how it went, remember to save the original codeplug so you can dump it back in if you have bad results.

I wouldn't try it. You'll have lo pwr out and a very deaf rcvr. I tried the opposite, and got 8W@430Mc and 12dB SINAD@15uV(!).
I also got by accident some 450-470 GM300s, and I use them now just for display.
(and waiting the time that TETRA will be granted the complete 403-430 band all nets will be forced to move to the hi band...)
