Hi folks....am interested in remote controlling a R-2670 service monitor either from a local pc or even via modem...I need to test astro spectra w3 & xts3000 radio's in both analogue and IMBE CAI...have the programmers reference manual but like a lot of motorola handbooks almost bloody useless..what I am interested in obtaining is a software program to control the test set to enable me to build an autotest station to allow testing of tx & rx specs..do care about encryption although that would be nice also..anybody got any pointers as to companies, service shops etc who may have already done this...please leave messages here or at email [email protected] its Australia & the fires in Sydney are about 1.5miles from here at the moment...happy new year.

If the unit was purchased new from Motorola, it should have came with a Calibration Certificate & Product Quality Report, including the business card of a technical support specialist in their CTE (Communications Test Equipment) group. They're probably a good place to start. If you've misplaced the card, I could give you the email address from mine, although it's for the U.S. I'm not sure if Australia would have it's own corresponding department or not.

Well Dave...I've re-read my post several times, and I think I was pretty clear about it. What part are you having trouble understanding?

Dave,

I was looking to do the same thing for similar radios but unfortunately the CTE group which is down in the Phoenix area (which I'm very close to by the way and I used to know several engs from that group)just doesn't have any people left who know anything about the r2670 after the recent layoffs nor do they have the manpower to help with remote S/W development. It looks like I'll have to put RF design aside for a bit and get back into code writting if I want anything for the 2670.
