Quantar Assist...

Post by Cat_Herder »

Hello all,
have a small problem that slightly has me stumped...
Interfacing a Quantar to a DGMSK modem. Quantar does MSK just fine, but the DGMSK audio is slaughtered due to extreme roll off from 10Hz to 300Hz and above 3Khz...(need to have this puppy as flat as possible.)
programmed the Quantar for operations from the accessory port, (the 50Pin connector) and made certain that the Fast Key Option is on...still, tests reveal that the audio on Transmit is being attenuated at the low end.
Any ideas? (MSF5K's do GREAT on both types of signalling..unfortunately...not available NEW anymore.)

Try using the trunking TX data +&- inputs. The trunking station has to be able to send low speed data (similar to DPL) as well as 3600 baud control channel data. This requires frequency response almost to DC.

xmo,
Ok,I'll give that a try...station (neglected to mention it is conventional...) is not set up for trunking...however, those inputs/outputs may be available even when not set to operate trunked...I'll recheck the svc manual for that...
thank you sir!
