Hi,

Well I have the Police Impala, I am wondering how people are placing the antenna cables from the trunk lid to the trunk since there are no pivots like the Crown Vic and older cars. I have a way but am looking for some more creative idea's.

Thanks in advance

Ive routed the cable into the sub frame of the trunklid. Pop out the rubber grommet and put a small hole in it seal it back up with silicone. Then run it along with the factory trunk wiring. Using a few cable ties and flexguard.

So by putting the cable on the outside and going through that gromet, the cable will be exposed to the elements for it's sort run outside the trunk.

Its only about a 1 foot run that isn't in the trunk proper. I run it in some plastic loom aka Flexguard. Ive done close to 75 this way and havent had any problems. I have seen the factory trunk mounted lights just hang the wires down from the lights. I looks like that setup will get hung up on things in the trunk.

Maybe Jim has a better idea or two....

I have been running the cable on the inside of the trunk, fastening it with cable fasterners directly to the frame of the trunk lid, and then securing the coax to the underside of the interior of the trunk. Of course you just leave enough slack on the cable as not to pull it tight when the trunk is fully open. This keeps everything neat and clean.
