I have been sucessful in making a Spectra move onto the 902 ham band. I have 10 modes programmed for these conventional channels. What I would like to do is remove the existing trunking data that is programmed in the radio. I have never worked with a trunked radio and don't know how to deal with this.
Thanks

There are two quick ways of doing it.
The first way is to change the radio into a conventional only, but I kinda figure you are unable to that.
The second way will not remove the trunking features but it will allow you not to have a that annoying trunking mode everytime you scroll through your channels.
You first must delete all the trunking personalities and modes except for one. As you know , everytime you attempted to delete that last one , the stubborn RSS won't let you. The next thing you do is add a new personality but do not add a mode to it. Now you can delete the old personality and when you try to F-10 out of the menu, you will get a warning that at least one personality does not have a mode pointing to it. Hit F-10 any way to get out of the menu.
Now check your F-5 menu and you should not see any trunking chanels.
I have done this on quite a few 900 spectras for the same reason.
Good Luck.

Good stuff...too bad it doesn't work on trunked Maxtracs! I tried.

If you want to delete all the trunking info out of a Maxtrac, all you need to do is change out the firmware chip, blank outh the board and then reintialize it as a conventional.

I have not found a good way of blanking a logic board yet. Maybe someone will let me know how for the VHF and UHF Maxtracs / Radius radios. I have a few radios that have bogus information/model number and serial number in them. They may have been poorly hacked somewhere in their history and I want to straghten them out.

Sure, easy enough if you have LAB RSS and are only doing a couple. Not very practical if you have a customer with dozens, and you're only trying to get rid of the "1A" in the display.

Thanks Metro!! I have done this on all the spectras that I and friends have. It is nice not to have a blank mode.

Cool, thanks Metro. It would be great if a simple, non-intrusive solution were found.
