Simple question

Post by Julian »

Can an Astro Saber KVL cable be used to keyload an analog Saber? Looking for 2 CHEAP UHF or VHF DES capable mobiles. They'll be loaded with 2 simplex personalities and used for a distance of about 8 miles.

I would imagine that the radios could use the same cable. they have the same programming cables (in general) and 99% of all accessories will work together between them, so ill guess and say yes...

Hi:

Unfortunitely, Astro-Sabers and Saber l, ll, & lll's use
Different Programming Cables !

However, the KVL Cable is the Same, but think your
question needs clarification.

A Analog Saber ( Not equipted ) with Encryption has
no ability to hold a Keycode. ! If you have a Saber
that is DVP, DES, DES-XL Compatable, so long as you
have the Module Installed, along with the proper Keyloader,
you can install a Code Key...

However, depending on which format the Astro-Saber
is using, it MUST be the same as the one in the Saber w/
Secure Capabilities.

Hope that answers your question.

As far as finding 2 mobiles that are Secure Equipted, I may
have something of interest, but encryption is not CHEAP.

I have a few 800 Mhz Maxtracs that have been modified
for Encryption with a aftermarket device...

Email me direct for details.
