I believe you can use MoSlow. See the link below for the programming primer:

MoSlo really doesn't work that well, its the serial bus problems that kill programs (and radios). The programs themselves ususally run OK, but the serial bus in newer computers cannot communicate well with old programs.

That may slow down the processor by "jamming or clogging" it with loop routines giving you an effective slower processor speed, but......
the big problem is in the timing and speed of the I/O devices and BIOS. MoSlo or any other slowing type program won't fix this.

My laptop is a 150 MHz Pentium. If I use MoSlo, I cannot run MT1000 RSS. The same computer without MoSlo will run this RSS just fine. I feel you are more at risk of crashing a radio by using one of these programs.
Go to thrift or Goodwill stores and look for a slower computer. A 25 Mhz 386 can be had for a mere $25 most of the time.

Yard sales, & the last local Hamfest we had there were over 20 working 386/486 computers for sale! These old motorola radios don't like fast data going in there c-plug. In one of "Monty's" posts he says he see about 200 radios a year. That get burnt by a 586. Not worth it....

i use a 486 IBM thinkpad that i got at a yard sale for 25 bucks. its the 755c and it works great. never had a problem with it. only problem is you'll never find a battery for something that old and if you do its not worth paying the $90 for it. but slow is the way to go without a doubt
