Ericsson mobile Model #344a4210p13 f
I can't even find a manual for this thing online. I know it is a 440. And it is 40w.
Question is, do I need the TQ programmers to program this thing?

Any links, pages, ect. would help. Thanks guys.

Monogram is the same as the MAXON mobiles who made it for them. Same programming software, don't think it needs the GE rib just a direct cable.

I think the software is pretty cheap nearly free these days

So all Maxon mobiles use the same software?

I am guessing the rib connects through the mic port, and uses DOS.

I have several of these radios. I program them with a Maxon SMP-4000. There is a small cable that plugs into a jack on the circuit board near the EEPROM.

The SMP-4000 is a metal box with a 16 key pad, and about a 20 char display.

Anyone got one of these? I think they are kind of rare. Is there an Ericsson labeled equivilant?

I have not had luck programming the EEPROM out of the radio using the socket on the programmer.

The pic you have is the same as a Maxon SM-4150 if it is VHF, UHF uses a different model #. In the old days the box could program just about everything Maxon had if you had the cable. Now, just like /\/\ they seem to be making different software and cables for each model. I had the SMP-4000 box and it was a little too hard to use as it gave you just the numerics you were putting in the radio step by step, RX frequency enter, RX pl tone enter, TX frequency ect.... (like the old midland programmer). I sold it on e-bay and got the PC version software and cable. It works just like any PC software and you can see every ch in the radio. It does not require a rib, the circuits needed are in the 25 pin connector end. The programming wire is about $65.00 retail. The software is free all over the net.

I can not even find the Maxon equivilant cable. Any ideas on how to make one?
As for software, as usual, any Maxon software I find is on Russan websites..lol.
