FCC makes list of towers they think should be registered...

Post by Jonathan KC8RYW »

I got this off the broadcast.net listserv. It's worth a look.
The FCC has released a list of towers that they feel should be registered, and they are not.

The list is at http://wireless.fcc.gov/antenna/release ... stered.pdf

The rest of the story is at http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/a ... 2411A1.pdf

It might be worth your time to check to see if any of your towers are on the list. Or someone you don't care for !

Not nearly as many sites as I would've expected in California. Interesting how many are down in PR.

Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

Antenna towers...

This subject is still probably governed by the CFR, extracts of which used to be published in an FCC booklet titled "Objects Affecting Navigable Airspace." The way I remember it you either fell within the regs (meaning lights on the tower) or you didn't fall within the regs (which obviously meant no lights).
