Is it possible to pass the received PL or DPL through the RICK and to the transmitter or would this be a complicated process?
I have been looking through the manual and I don't see an option for this, or maybe I'm missing something.
All help is appreciated.

Hi:
In short, the answer is No.
The R*I*C*K is a well developed, reliable
repeater controller with almost all options
covered, and is almost failure proof.
But since there is Audio Filtering, and Conditioning for the transmitter, low audio
freqs are removed so the Audio Quality can
be enhanced.
Normally, one uses the " Transmitter" side
to generate the proper DPL / PL code, OR
one has a Community Repeater package to
decode ( a / all ) Tones, and then let the
Controller generate to proper tones for a
particular subscriber...
In other words, its not practical to run a
repeater in a Carrier Squelch mode, and then
desire the Mobiles/portables to have there
own seperate Tones...
One runs into all kinds of Dev problems, and
other technical issues when trying it

Monty,
What I am looking to do is install a cwid unit on an existing repeater. I would like to key and ID without a pl is there any possibility for this?

VCaruso - listen to 155.100 - that is the Essex County OEM repeater. - They're PL is 107.2, but the ID is transmitted w/o a PL - I'm not sure if they use a RICK, but it's worth a shot to call their comm center.

There is a way to do this, but the CW IDer has to be wired inside the transmitter radio to be able to ID without the PL tone on transmit. It would be best to have a very GOOD tech handle this, logic boards are expensive to replace.
I have done this using Comm Spec's IDer on GM300 radios.

The GM300 like the other variants, needs to have a couple of componets added inside the radio along with the CWIDer to mute the PL or DPL on transmitting the ID.

Nand, this is why some parts have to be added to make it work. Vcaruso is using a RICK at the same time. If he was using my repeater interface module there would be no problem all plug, program and play.

Actually Gentelman, no extra parts were required. if programmed properly and the dip sitches are set properly the RICK will pass the received PL through since the transmitter is set for CSQ once the cwid keys the transmitter radio it sends the id on carrier
Thanks for all your help
