Hi:

As you are aware, the P50+ series radio
is a Crystal Controlled Radio which has a programmable Pl/DPL board. ( Via rss-Not Switches ). So long as you have the F1-F2 Switch already installed, I can Remove, Reinstall, and add any componets needed for the 2cd freq, along
with reprogramming the PL/DPL board, and Alighn the Receievr / transmitter for optimum
perfomance for 125.00ea+ shipping

Nice little radios, but they are a little
on the expensive side to set up if you want
good stable Xtals in the radio. Sometime you
can find the xtals a little cheaper if you
are willing to live with the Freq Drift / poor performance of cheap xtals in the 12.00-15.00 price class.

How that breaks down is $20.00ea for the
Xtals ( X 4=$ 80.00 )+ 45.00ea for labor.

Figure around $15.00 for all your shipping
and handling costs.

If you rather wish to consider a SP50 which
is a fully Programmable Radio, I have a few
that are in Mint Condition, Come Complete with New Battery, Charger, Antenna & Clip, for @265.00ea

You might consider selling the P50+'s on the
freq they are on, take the monies and add it
to the upgrade costs, and get a better radio.

Batman,

You made an error in the frequency it should be 462.5750 and tx on 467.5750 which is GMRS.

462.5875 is a FRS frequency and is limited to one half watt transmit power and 2.5khz deviation max. The P50+ radio is NOT FCC type accepted for FRS.

If the radio owner is a licensed GMRS operator, then he/she may use the first 7 FRS/GMRS "Interstitial" frequencies with up to 5 watts ERP (Effective Radiated Power).

The other 8, Primary GMRS frequencies allow 50 watts and unlimited ERP.

However, if I were changing crystals out in a P50 radio, I'd be sure to choose any of the Primary GMRS frequncies as the FRS's are too crowded.

Are you a registered GMRS licensee? If you are not, then you are not permitted to use the radio on those frequencies as Will explained.
