I believe the only version the B3 controler will support is an top display. I have a B3 radio that was upgraded to a b4, I'm working on making it into a MCS2000 top display. If It didn't require a lot of effort to do a front display, I'd go that route myself.

Some B3 controllers will accept the upgrade and some won't. As a *general* rule, the H01UCC6DB3BN or CN models should be able to take the upgrade. Mot actually used the same controllers in those radios as they did the B5's and B7's just factory flashed them for a B3.

Both of the 800mhz radios that I have are AN radio's, so I don't think they can be upgraded to be full front radios. Is there anyway to tell for sure that you can do this upgrade?

I'm working with someone right now to get it to an MTS2000, however, if I can upgrade them to an a5 or a7, then I can resell one and get some $$ for it

i know for a fact, because I did it, that a b3 will upgrade to a top display model by adding the new housing with flex and electronics and reprogramming it with lab.

As far as a front display from a b3, it is impossible ,not enough memory area on the b3 controller, it will never happen.
