Well, I found a couple HT600's VHF and they were marked XTALS removed, I figured it was a mistake since they are RSS programmed. Come to find out after the RX was crap someone opened the radio and cut out a three prong crystal inside of the radio. I need the part number in order to obtain replacements. Also if you know the placement of it.

thanks
Jeff

that is one of the if bandpass filters.

Maybe they were bad so the tech removed them with the intent of replacement at a later time. That would explain the rx being crappy. Phrawg

maybe the last guy that had them thought he had to change them to get differant channels put in them.

If memory serves me there was a similar thread on this board a few months ago.

I believe that rather than reprogramming the radios the govt techs had removed the xtals.

Search through the archives it was informative.
